In its pursuit of proximity to other worlds, life forms, and uncharted terrains, BLOOD ORANGE is a moving image work that explores the absurdities of desire and consumption. Adopting a satirical lens, the piece critiques mass media advertising and the commodification of intimacy through the metaphor of a love potion gone awry. The work navigates the porous boundaries between attraction and manipulation, sincerity and spectacle; posing questions about the entanglements of affect, fantasy, and late capitalist longing.
