WHEN THE EARTH LEARNED TO CRY
WHEN THE EARTH LEARNED TO CRY is a short experimental video composed of archival laboratory footage of algae intertwined with original moving image. The work offers a quiet meditation on the intimacy between science and poetics, positioning algae: one of Earth’s most ancient life forms, as both subject and collaborator. Through this assemblage, the film gestures toward an eco-sentimental aesthetic, between biological observation and emotional resonance. It invites reflection on interspecies kinship, microbial memory, and the overlooked beauty of the more-than-human world.
